I don’t give up.
That’s probably the most honest thing I can tell you upfront.
I’ve failed at things. I’ve had seasons where it looked like I quit. But I’ve always come back. Every single time.
I started in video production. Ran shoots, built infrastructure, managed crews, learned the business side mostly by getting it wrong first. It wasn’t a failure. It was an education. And it built a systems brain in me I didn’t have a name for yet.
That chapter closed anyway. Not because it failed. Because it wasn’t where I was supposed to stay. Walking away from something that’s working takes a different kind of courage than walking away from something that’s broken.
Then I rebuilt.
Moved into automation and AI. Spent years building workflows, connecting APIs, designing content pipelines, and eliminating the busywork that keeps talented people from doing what they’re actually good at.
Right now I’m an Automation Director managing 150+ active client accounts, a small team, and a growing stack of systems that didn’t exist before I built them.
I’m also building TKL Digital on the side. My own automation and AI consulting company, for local businesses and agencies that need these tools but don’t have someone to build them. I’m doing this second leap the right way this time. Building the runway before I jump. Keeping integrity on both sides. Not rushing because the timing isn’t right yet.
What KOOL actually stands for.
I came up with KOOL when I was fifteen. Kreating Our Own Lives. K-R-E-A-T-I-N-G. The K is mine. The rest is the point.
K — Knowledge. Stay curious. Learn things that compound.
O — Opportunity. See the openings others walk past.
O — Organization. Build systems so time works for you.
L — Lifestyle. Design something you actually want to live.
I don’t hit all four every day. But they’re what I keep coming back to.
Why I write about this publicly.
Because I needed this when I was doing it the first time and couldn’t find it.
There’s plenty of content from people who already made it, looking back, knowing how it turned out. Useful. But it’s not the same as watching someone navigate it in real time without knowing the ending.
That’s what The Kool Life is.
